weblogs.asp.net — Interesting question... and interesting writeup ... asking if MVC is right for you. Will be an interesting discussion to follow no doubt.

Worst. Blog. Ever.

I have never seen anyone compare a language with politics. I am now dumber after looking at that blog.

I used to do MVC with Java Servlets/JSP, and to some extent with ColdFusion (FuseBox). MVCs, indeed, have their own limitations/frustrations. It's nice to see a post regarding MVC that doesn't perpetuate the Web Forms such 100% and MVC rocks 100%.

Granted, I am happy to see that it seems MS is working towards making it easier to save state within forms and between forms -- that is one of the things that drew me to .NET from JSP.

It seems some people are throwing out the baby with the bathwater. And what's up with those that haven't even written an app in MVC saying that it's so great?!?

MVC has it's place and Web Forms have theirs.

It's a little far reaching at points, but he makes valid points. I think a lot of us have been writing WebForms applications that mimic MVC's maintainability and well-defined separation of concerns all along. It always frustrates me to see people using WebForms poorly and then blaming the entire technology for their own shortcomings.

my main point was the politics that are mentioned.

This is the same thing I heard when first comparing Classic ASP to ASP.NET. And, let us not forget there will be plenty of bad code written using ASP.NET MVC.
