Tips for using BlogEngine Pages

When I switched over to BE my previous experience told me to create separate .aspx pages for stand-alone content. I didn't see the need to use the BlogEngine Pages feature. What I found out when doing things this way was that I couldn't use all of the theme and events that come along with the BE master page. So I reluctantly switched to using BlogEngine BlogEngine Pages instead of adding separate .aspx. After running this way for a while I figured out some things that I thought might help others to know as well.

Creating pages based on templates - eventually!

All my attempts to use custom templates when creating new DNN pages for my portals were frustrating. Even though I exported the template from a page using the Export feature, the new template would not show up at all in the combo box when creating a new page, although it existed in the file system.
7 Steps to write your own custom rule using FXCOP

Code review is one of the important activities in any project. Manual code reviews are definitely good and I will say better than automation. But when the project is large manual code reviews have their own limitations. FXCOP is one of the legendary tools which help us automate code reviews. This article will discuss some basics of FXCOP and then concentrate mainly on how we can add custom rules in FXCOP.

Changes to Castle Project

I'm happy to announce a few changes that the PMC agreed upon regarding how Castle Project will be led from now on. These changes are long overdue, and intend to fix our release and documentation debts.
Until now each Castle release was a bundle release. This is good and problematic. Some unstable projects drag the release of stable ones. We lose momentum and everybody's miserable

NHibernate in Action, Working with persistent objects, Using business

Quote from book:
"Notice that it's almost never correct to
override Equals() on a subclass and include another property in the comparison. It's tricky to satisfy the
requirements that equality be both symmetric and transitive in this case; and, more important, the business key
wouldn't correspond to any well-defined candidate natural key in the database (subclass properties may be
mapped to a different table)."
