Well, it is about time we (Tim, Chris and myself) actually made this announcement. We will be doing a MVC book with O'Reilly titled 'Programming MVC'. We are super excited and super pumped to get this out the door. All three of us are huge fans of the MVC framework and know that this is framework going to be smashing success.

Unfortunately, the [OutputCache] filter that ships with ASP.NET MVC is merely a thin wrapper around ASP.NET output caching. The MVC team have explained that they're aware of the issues, but it's very difficult to make ASP.NET output caching fit into MVC's design, and they are focusing on other things first. We can quite easily create a new caching filter that captures actions' output and uses ASP.NET's data caching facility to store it for next time. This filter will fit properly into the MVC pipeline, not strangely bypassing authorization or other earlier filters (it will run at the right time in whatever ordered set of filters you've using).

As great as ASP.NET MVC is, it doesn't have such an easy way to set up reusable controls or "widgets". Steven Sanderson explains a technique similar to MVC Contrib's "subcontrollers", but much simpler.

Your First QUnit Test To start testing, you'll need to start by creating an HTML page (MyFooTests.htm, for example). This page will need to reference the jquery core JS file, testrunner.js, testsuite.css, as well as the JS file containing the code you're going to be testing. Today I was having another round of conversations with a buddy of mine about the concept of waste and unused code. In agile there is a concept called YAGNI (You Ain't Gonna Need It) that basically states that you should not add code that is not immediately needed as it is waste.

It kills me most fail to leverage the real benefit of 'speaking in patterns' at a mastery level where it is understood that the conceptual OO design is easy and trivial compared with changing your culture.
